GBA Board Succession
The Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is entering the next chapter of its leadership through a planned succession of its Board of Directors. This transition reflects the natural evolution of a growing global organization and provides an opportunity to recognize those who have served, welcome newly elected leaders, and strengthen the continuity of GBA’s governance.
GBA extends its deepest appreciation to Dr. Ingrid Vasiliu-Feltes, Dr. Sindhu Bhaskar, and Sean Kurzweil, who are rotating off the Board following the completion of their terms.
Their service came during an important period in GBA’s development. Like many growing organizations, GBA has experienced challenges, growing pains, and periods that required significant commitment from its leadership. Ingrid, Sindhu, and Sean demonstrated perseverance, dedication, and a continued commitment to the organization and its members throughout that journey. We are sincerely grateful for the time, energy, experience, and leadership they contributed.
Their involvement with GBA will not end with their Board service. Former Board members will transition to the GBA Strategic Advisory Committee, where their institutional knowledge, experience, and perspectives can continue to support the Board and the broader mission of the organization.
Continuing Board Leadership
Paul Dowding, Linda Hutchinson, and Alejandro Mandujano will continue serving as members of the GBA Board of Directors until the completion of their respective terms. Their continued service will provide important continuity as newly elected members join the Board and assume their responsibilities.
Welcoming Our Newly Elected Board Members
GBA is pleased to welcome three newly elected members to the Board of Directors:
Each brings new perspectives, experience, and ideas to the organization. Their election represents the voice of the GBA membership and the continuation of a governance process designed to periodically introduce new leadership while preserving institutional knowledge and organizational stability.
We congratulate Enrique, Bob, and Eugene on their election and look forward to their contributions as GBA continues to expand its global community, programs, standards, education, and public-private collaboration.
Governance and Operational Continuity
As part of GBA’s governance structure, the Chief Financial Officer will participate with the Board as a non-voting participant. The CFO, together with the Executive Director, will continue to have the authority and responsibility to establish organizational policies, priorities, and operations in accordance with the strategic direction and guidance provided by the Board of Directors.
This structure is intended to maintain clear Board oversight while enabling GBA’s executive leadership to effectively manage the day-to-day activities of the organization and respond to the needs of its members and programs.
Gratitude for Those Who Serve
Leadership in a volunteer-driven global organization requires far more than attending meetings. It requires time, sacrifice, patience, difficult decisions, and a willingness to contribute when circumstances are not always easy.
GBA therefore extends its utmost appreciation to every member of our leadership team—past, present, and incoming—for their contributions, sacrifices, perseverance, and dedication to the Government Blockchain Association and the members we serve.
Organizations grow because people are willing to invest themselves in something larger than their individual roles. Every Board member, officer, committee member, working group leader, chapter leader, volunteer, and contributor has helped shape GBA into the organization it is today.
As this Board succession takes place, we honor those completing their service, appreciate those who continue to lead, and welcome those who have been entrusted by the membership with the responsibility of helping guide GBA into its next chapter.
Thank you to everyone who has served—and to everyone who continues to make GBA possible.
