2026 Future of Money, Governance & the Law Wrap Up

From September 29 through October 2, 2026, the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) hosted the Future of Money, Governance & the Law in Washington, DC and New York City. This international event series brought together policymakers, regulators, financial executives, technology innovators, and government leaders from around the world to examine the impact of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing on financial services and public governance.

The program began with a high-level roundtable on Capitol Hill followed by congressional meetings. It continued with a conference at the National Press Club and an evening Cryptopoly Gala Reception in Washington, DC. The series concluded with a global summit at United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

Speakers and participants represented organizations including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Internal Revenue Service, United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, Coinbase, Ripple, Circle, and leading technology and financial institutions.

Discussions explored digital asset regulation, financial infrastructure modernization, digital identity, cybersecurity, tokenization, international cooperation, and the importance of standards and independent assessments in building trust in emerging technologies.

More than a conference, FoMGL 2026 served as a platform for collaboration between government and industry. It advanced international dialogue on responsible innovation and the policies, standards, and institutional capabilities needed to support the future of money and the digital economy.
