GBA’s Government Blockchain Week
An approaching train is rumbling under the radar.
During the COVID-19 shutdown, the Government Blockchain Association, (GBA) has been making plans for Government Blockchain Week, a week-long conference to be held in May of 2021, in Washington DC.
This event will not be virtual, but live.
Imagine with me, if you will, 5 days of blockchain symposiums, forums, conferences, with a Pitch Competition, an Awards Ceremony, and an Art Show thrown into the mix. Then add to this lineup, 3 Evening Receptions in iconic venues, and you have the GBA’s Government Blockchain Week.
But before you can ask, ‘WHY?’, let me remind you of a few reasons that might hit close to home.
In the USA, we just had an election, a big one, where results have not been accepted by all Americans. This presents a very real threat to the American elections system and our national security. As technology changes and presents new ways of doing things, our American voting system remains stagnant. It resists all change unless a catalyst forces it to change. The last time this happened was in 2000 during the Gore v Bush election. That was 20 years ago. Today, many voting issues can be improved by using blockchain.
Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down businesses, schools, restaurants, and life, causing fallout in mental health, education, small businesses, and more. How can we better handle our healthcare system, let alone the next world health crisis? Many challenges in healthcare can be eradicated by using blockchain.
And lastly, in just months, the fiat system of money supply has been infused with more new dollars than have been introduced in the past 25 years. What will this massive addition of dollars do to the global economy, 60 percent of which is invested in USD? How will cryptocurrencies affect this crisis? Will crypto replace the US dollar as the World Currency, or will the Chinese Yuen take that place?
Government leaders from around the globe are coming to Washington DC in May to learn from a stellar line up of Speakers. If you want to understand the changes of the next decade, be sure to reserve your spot at the GBA’s Government Blockchain Week, May 17-22, 2021.
All daytime events are FREE. Tickets to the Receptions can be purchased now.
