Mr. Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio to MC the 2024 Government Blockchain Association (GBA) Annual Achievement Awards in Washington, DC

Washington, DC – March 23, 2024 – The Government Blockchain Association (GBA) proudly announces that Mr. Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF), and Co-Leader of the Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization, within the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN-IGF), will be the Master of Ceremonies for the 2024 GBA Annual Achievement Awards on May 2, 2024, in Washington, DC.

Mr. Dell’Accio, renowned for his pioneering work in blockchain technology, was appointed CIO of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF), in January 2017. In his CIO capacity, he designed a groundbreaking blockchain-based identity management solution for UNJSPF, earning him and the UN Team the prestigious UN Secretary General’s Award for Innovation and Sustainability. The UNJSPF was also honored with the GBA’s Annual Achievement Award for Organizational Excellence for Social Impact.

The Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is the premier organization of public and private sector blockchain professionals, boasting members from over 500 government offices worldwide. The GBA is committed to developing and maintaining blockchain standards, conducting assessments of blockchain solutions, and providing education to industry leaders in both the public and private sectors. The GBA also Co-Leads and hosts the Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization, within the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN-IGF).

The Annual Achievement Awards (AAAs), inaugurated in 2020 at the United States Congressional Auditorium, recognize outstanding contributions to the field of blockchain technology. Awards are presented in four individual categories: innovation, leadership, social impact, and courage, along with one award for organizational excellence.

Past individual award recipients have included President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, Bill Rockwood from the US House of Representatives, and industry maverick Jon Trask of Dimitra. Last year, the first organizational excellence award was presented to the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund, with the Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Executive Rosemarie McClean and Mr. Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio accepting the on behalf of the organization.
