Digitizing and NodeMonkes Host Blockchain Dinner Series at Rethink Food’s Sustainable Community Kitchen in New York City
For established industries to evolve, and for emerging sectors to scale, conversations must take place.
Rethink Food, a leading nonprofit creating a more sustainable and equitable food system, recently partnered with the teams at NodeMonkes and Digitizing to host eight charity dinners in New York City. Inspired by a shared passion for sustainability and innovation, these dinners foster dialogue on how Web3 technology can improve philanthropic spaces and donation giving.
“We’re grateful for Digitizing and NodeMonkes’ commitment to our mission and their donations through a series of dinners bringing together blockchain community members on this topic. We are very excited to continue exploring how blockchain technology like Bitcoin can better serve the philanthropic space and establish strong relationships with tech entrepreneurs and organizations committed to driving societal changes,” says Matthew Jozwiak, Rethink CEO and Founder.
Most recently in June, Digitizing Co-Founder and CEO Michael Groysman brought together a group of blockchain entrepreneurs at Rethink Food’s Sustainable Community Kitchen in Greenwich Village. Over grilled octopus, oysters, and lobster tails (all made with sustainable ingredients), guests discussed how organizations can harness the power of emerging technology to enact positive change.
“These dinners marked a significant milestone, as they are the first time many members of the NodeMonkes community meet in person, transitioning from virtual connections to tangible camaraderie and collaboration. This gathering of diverse individuals from around the world underscores the unifying power of philanthropy and technology,” says Groysman.
“We want to connect people in New York, as being a hub of Web3, to come together and engage them and the capital behind them to do something good for the community,” continues the Digitizing Founder.
Groysman hosted the dinner after attending the DC Blockchain Summit, where he met with GBA President Gerard Dache, other GBA partner organizations, and top policymakers to discuss the most important issues facing the blockchain industry. With Digitizing’s next monthly dinner set to take place on August 2nd, Rethink Food looks forward to continuing its commitment to sustainability and innovation in food systems in partnership with those pioneering communities in the blockchain space.
“If we can ensure blockchain companies adhere to their founding principles of transparency and decentralization and bring this kind of openness into the nonprofit sector while integrating promising technology into battle-tested ways of impacting communities, everyone wins,” adds Jozwiak.
