XRP Ledger (XRP)

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is a fast, energy-efficient blockchain designed primarily for cross-border payments and financial settlement. Created by Ripple Labs in 2012, it uses a consensus protocol rather than proof-of-work or proof-of-stake, enabling transactions to finalize in seconds with minimal cost. XRP’s focus is on bridging traditional finance and blockchain by enabling banks, remittance providers, and fintech firms to move value globally with liquidity on demand. Despite regulatory scrutiny in past years, the XRPL continues to expand its use cases into tokenization and DeFi.
