Event Category: Supply Chain
This event is the recurring meeting for the GBA Food Supply Chain Working Group.
Food Supply Chain Working Group is dedicated to enhancing the integration and application of blockchain technology within the food industry’s supply chains. The group’s objectives are multifaceted and aimed at leveraging blockchain to improve transparency, efficiency, and security in food supply chains globally.
Our objectives include:
- Developing a Food Supply Chain Supplement to the Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM): The group aims to expand the Blockchain Maturity Model by adding a supply chain supplement to certify GBA member projects under the BMM, thereby promoting these organizations globally as adhering to high standards in supply chain solutions.
- Showcasing Successful Blockchain Projects: A key objective is to highlight examples of successful blockchain implementations in the food supply chain. This involves presenting these cases to government leaders worldwide and at prominent events such as the GBA’s September 2024 conference and the United Nations Internet Governance forum in December 2024. The goal is to demonstrate the value of blockchain in enhancing food security and other supply chain use cases .
- Supporting Supply Chain Projects with AI Grant Service: The group plans to assist supply chain projects by utilizing the GBA’s AI grant service to identify relevant grants for businesses in the supply chain domain. This support aims to facilitate funding for research, development, and implementation of blockchain technologies in the supply chain space.
- Networking and Business Opportunities: Members of the working group are also focused on networking and seeking business opportunities within the food supply chain context. This includes finding collaborative ventures and leveraging the collective expertise and resources of the group to advance blockchain applications in the food supply chain.
