Selling Social Impact

Money will always be a dominant factor in measuring success, but is social impact gaining the lead?

Social Impact is a hot commodity today. Similar to achieving financial milestones such as reaching the first $Billion, social impact programs give businesses credibility. Whereas money has always been a leading factor in measuring success, today, social media condemns the undivested super-rich as inherently evil. (Examples, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos). Even those hapless millionaires who could afford a trip into outer space are shamed for not investing that money into ending world hunger. The message is clear, a successful company, or individual, needs to do more than just make bank. Millennials and Generation Z want to make an impact through the work they do and will support corporations that do the same.

It’s time to advertise the do-gooders.

This January, the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) will host The Future of Money, Governance, & the Law, live in Washington DC and streamed globally. On Friday, January 28, GBA will present their Annual Achievement Awards, where 4 winners in the areas of Leadership, Innovation, Social Impact, and Courage will be honored from the stage with media exposure, a trophy, and credentials that can be posted on all social media outlets.
