Government & Financial Institutions Talk Crypto and Governance
Washington, DC (January 27-28, 2022) International government leaders, finance officers, and NGO administrators come to Washington DC to discuss The Future of Money, Governance, & the Law, strategizing next steps.
According to a Chainalysis report in October of 2021, the Global Crypto adoption worldwide increased by over 880% last year. These numbers are not driven by a few crypto whales, but more likely reflect the actions of over one billion people who, without an address or official identity, do not have access to a bank account. Cryptocurrency will allow anyone with internet access to own a wallet and be included in the economic system. Decentralized cryptocurrency is also outside of the purvey of national government, stripping their ability to control money or tax it.
How should governments respond?
On January 27-28, at the National Press Club in Washington DC, international government leaders, as well as US state and local policy makers, will converge at the Government Blockchain Association (GBA)’s 2-day event, The Future of Money, Governance, & the Law. This educational seminar will offer learning, strategizing, and collaborating.
Participants will hail from:

Blockchain technology, with its’ decentralized abilities, will cross borders, impacting national authority or even personal responsibility. Once a smart contract goes into effect, who is liable if something goes wrong? Now, more than ever, government leaders need to collaborate together to solve these new challenges. Regulations must be universal for them to be effective, and the financial sector will be hardest hit.
The event will discuss topics such as:
- Redefining Money
- Money, Inflation, and Debt
- International Organizations and NGOs
- Tokenomics and Crypto-Governance
- Blockchain Technology and Intellectual Property
- Blockchain and Taxes
- Blockchain Technology Legislation, Regulations, and Case Law
- And more…
The Future of Money, Governance, & the Law will be held live at the National Press Club and streamed globally. An evening reception will follow the January 28th seminar for networking.
