GBA Appoints John Curley as Director of Legislative Affairs

We are delighted to announce that John Curley has been appointed as the new Director of Legislative Affairs at the Government Blockchain Association (GBA).

John brings more than four decades of experience in public‑sector leadership, including senior management, consulting, and contractor roles within the U.S. government and federal agencies. His deep expertise spans governance, risk and compliance, information and records management, and anti‑money‑laundering efforts, all of which uniquely position him to support GBA’s mission in advancing blockchain and Web3 technologies in government environments.

In this global‑facing role, John will lead GBA’s legislative advocacy and policy outreach. He will foster strategic relationships with legislators, policy influencers and public‑sector bodies, and will champion the adoption of the Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM) as a framework for government acquisition of blockchain and Web3 technologies. Furthermore, John will guide efforts to secure funding for GBA to conduct independent research and provide Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) services to governments evaluating or acquiring blockchain‑based solutions.

We believe John’s combination of technical acumen, public‑sector experience and cross‑jurisdictional insight will drive GBA’s legislative engagements and elevate our global impact. Please join us in welcoming John to the team and wishing him success in this pivotal role.
