Gerard changed the description of the group Research & Development Working Group from “The GBA Research & Development Working Group aims to conduct market research, develop reports and case studies, and support the creation of open-source software and standards to demonstrate the impact of blockchain technology across various commercial and governmental sectors.
Key activities include:

Market research including grant and funding sources

Requirements & Standards

Open-source software development in collaboration with colleges and universities.

The software development is based on information gained from designing and conducting short surveys targeting GBA members and the public, analyzing survey results to identify trends and challenges, producing detailed reports and case studies showcasing practical applications of blockchain, and publishing findings on the GBA website and other channels.

The group will collaborate with the GBA Application Architecture Working Group to develop and launch open-source platforms, promoting community involvement in software development.

Publicity efforts will involve creating one-page summaries of survey results, regularly releasing press statements, and publishing papers to drive traffic to the GBA website. Additionally, the group will work with the GBA Universities and Colleges Working Group and the Project Funding Working Group to secure funding and integrate academic insights, ensuring developed applications align with GBA standards.

Technologies from members and potential members will be featured in surveys and reports. The overall outcome will be increased awareness and adoption of blockchain technology through detailed research, case studies, open-source software, and strategic communication efforts.” to “The GBA Research & Development Working Group aims to conduct market research, develop reports and case studies, and support the creation of open-source software and standards to demonstrate the impact of blockchain technology across various commercial and governmental sectors.
