Eugene changed the description of the group Arts & Entertainment from “Welcome to the Arts & Entertainment Working Group!

The Arts & Entertainment Working Group of the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is a global, multi member initiative dedicated to advancing trust, transparency, and innovation across the creative and experience-driven industries, including art, fashion, film, theatre, literature, sports, and travel.

Aligned with the mission of GBA and the work of the UN Internet Governance Forum’s Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standards (DC-BAS), this Working Group explores how blockchain, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies can address longstanding challenges in these sectors—such as intellectual property protection, royalty distribution, provenance verification, fraud prevention, and equitable access to markets.

The Working Group supports the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). It also contributes to the vision of the UN Global Digital Compact by promoting inclusive, secure, and trustworthy digital ecosystems.

Key focus areas include:

Digital Ownership & Provenance: Leveraging blockchain to authenticate and track ownership of creative works, luxury goods, and collectibles.
Fair Compensation Models: Enabling transparent, automated royalty and revenue-sharing systems for artists, creators, and performers.
Fraud Prevention & Assurance: Applying blockchain assurance frameworks to reduce counterfeiting, ticket fraud, and financial mismanagement.
Fan & Consumer Engagement: Creating trusted digital experiences, including tokenized access, immersive media, and verifiable memberships.
Sustainable & Ethical Practices: Supporting traceability in fashion, travel, and sports supply chains to promote responsible production and consumption.

Through collaboration with industry leaders, governments, UN bodies, and technology providers, the Working Group aims to produce practical, high-impact deliverables, including:

* Standards and best practice frameworks for blockchain adoption in creative industries
* Policy recommendations aligned with global governance and digital trust frameworks
* Pilot projects and use cases demonstrating real-world implementation
* Educational resources and capacity-building programs for creators and organizations
* Tools and models to improve transparency, accountability, and monetization

By bridging creativity with trusted technology, the GBA Arts & Entertainment Working Group seeks to empower individuals and organizations, unlock new economic opportunities, and establish a more transparent, equitable, and resilient global creative economy.

The Arts & Entertainment Working Group of the Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is a global, multi-member initiative dedicated to advancing trust, transparency, and innovation across the creative and experience-driven industries — including art, fashion, film, theatre, literature, music, sports and sports memorabilia, luxury collectibles, human heritage and cultural artefacts, gaming, tourism and travel.

Our Group aims at promoting its members through webinars and publications, as well as through creation of a trusted environment to help members demonstrate their achievements, strengthen credibility, help identify new markets and assist with communications.

We plan to encourage members get their solutions BMM assessed, to reduce the investment needed to enter new markets and expand existing ones, to increase trust by clients, regulators and shareholders.

Aligned with the mission of GBA and the work of the Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization (DC-BAS) recognized by the UN Internet Governance Forum, this Working Group explores how blockchain, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies can address longstanding challenges in these sectors — such as authenticity protection, intellectual property rights, royalty distribution, provenance verification, fraud prevention, and equitable access to markets.

Priority Verticals

The Working Group focuses its applied work across the verticals where authenticity, provenance, and trust have the highest economic, cultural, and social impact:

Human Heritage & Cultural Artefacts — protecting the authenticity, provenance, and chain of custody of religious relics, museum collections, archaeological objects, and historically significant artefacts.

Fine Art & Limited-Edition Works — securing artist attribution, edition integrity, and ownership history across primary and secondary markets.

Sports & Sports Memorabilia — verifying match-worn items, championship pieces, stadium artefacts, and athlete-issued collectibles, with transparent fan engagement and royalty flow.

Luxury Collectibles & Fashion — enabling traceable, ethical supply chains and counterfeit-proof authenticity for high-value goods.

Music, Film & Performing Arts — supporting fair compensation, IP integrity, and verifiable digital experiences for creators and audiences.

Travel & Experiential Industries — building trusted ticketing, access, and membership infrastructure.

Key Focus Areas

Digital Ownership & Provenance: Leveraging blockchain and emerging authenticity infrastructure to track and protect ownership of creative works, cultural heritage, luxury goods, and high-value collectibles.

Fair Compensation Models: Enabling transparent, automated royalty and revenue-sharing systems for artists, athletes, creators, and performers.

Fraud Prevention & Assurance: Applying blockchain assurance frameworks to reduce counterfeiting, forgery, ticket fraud, and financial mismanagement.

Fan & Consumer Engagement: Creating trusted digital experiences, including tokenized access, immersive media, and verifiable memberships.

Sustainable & Ethical Practices: Supporting traceability in fashion, travel, and sports supply chains to promote responsible production and consumption.

Heritage Safeguarding: Helping museums, religious institutions, and cultural custodians protect and digitally certify the artefacts under their care.

Through collaboration with industry leaders, governments, UN bodies, and technology providers, the Working Group aims to produce practical, high-impact deliverables, including:

Standards and best-practice frameworks for blockchain and authenticity infrastructure adoption across creative and heritage industries
Directory of relevant solutions
Policy recommendations aligned with global governance and digital trust frameworks
Pilot projects and use cases demonstrating real-world implementation across art, sports memorabilia, luxury, and human heritage
Educational resources and capacity-building programs for creators, athletes, institutions, and cultural custodians
Tools and models to improve transparency, accountability, and monetization

By bridging creativity, culture, and trusted technology, the GBA Arts & Entertainment Working Group seeks to empower individuals and organizations, unlock new economic opportunities, and establish a more transparent, equitable, and resilient global creative and heritage economy.” 2 hours ago
