Mark Montoya has a unique background of more than 25 years of experience blending technology, standards and enterprise data strategy. As a Senior Data Strategist for a U.S. Federal Financial Regulator, he has been instrumental in developing strategies for modernizing financial data collection, reporting and data aggregation which have had a direct impact on the federal financial enterprise and data standardization. Mark co-authored the Financial Stability Board’s Global Legal Entity Identifier whitepaper and several other financial data reference papers and articles. He architected an open standards based financial collection, analytical and dissemination system accessed and shared by multiple U.S. federal regulatory agencies. Mark also engineered and implemented the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's first cloud based taxonomy development system. He was a primary contributor to the successful international adoption of the eXtensible Business Reporting Language. Mark has been invited to present and offer lessons learned in data strategy and standards implementation at several state, U.S. and international regulatory conferences and technical working groups.
