Better Regulation than Clarity – Digital Asset Standardized Assessments
It is important to maintain reasonable expectations within the digital asset fields. Dr. Smithmyer, in his recent article notes that the Capstone case which is currently on the docket is not a failing of the digital asset community, but a problem due to the Balkinization of state regulations which have made a patchwork of laws, a patchwork with holes through which companies exploit the market. It is time for uniform regulation, each run by the nation which controls it, through:
- Standardized international travel rules and guidelines
- National laws with a single point of contact (agency) to oversee compliance
- Industry driven certification, such as the Blockchain Maturity Model to insure companies are real.
Only when we have these elements can we expect to see the FTXs, XRPs and Captstones be held to task in their space.
