Voatz is an award winning mobile-first elections platform backed by cutting-edge security, biometrics and a blockchain-backed infrastructure. Voatz has successfully served more than 5 million voters across 140 elections in 7 countries. In 2018, Voatz ran the first mobile vote in U.S. Federal Election history, and, in 2020, Voatz became the first smartphone app based system to be used for voting in the U.S. Presidential Elections. Voatz was selected by 15 cities in Canada for the 2022 Ontario Municipal Elections and was recently used in the historic 2024 Presidential Elections in Mexico. The Voatz elections platform has been designated as a Trusted Blockchain Solution following a rigorous Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM) assessment.
DeVote uses zk-SNARKs package developed by =nil; Foundation team: it is based on special voting protocol SAVER – SNARK-friendly, Additively-homomorphic, and Verifiable Encryption and decryption with Rerandomization protocol (published in 2019). In its turn it employs Groth16 – the most efficient zero knowledge proof system with minimal proof size and respectively minimal on-chain processing costs. DeVote solution is multichain, with true anonymity of voting and perfect auditability of results. DeVote technology allows to serve elections without requiring voters to install/use any crypto wallets, although all voting data is stored on-chain. Additional features required by public voting standards (on-chain eligible voters lists, auditor and observer controlling tools etc) are under development.
Follow My Vote is striving to improve the integrity standards of voting systems used in political elections worldwide. In order to ensure that political election results are accurate and accepted on a global scale, they are developing secure open-source end-to-end verifiable blockchain-based voting software that provides transparency into election results by allowing voters to independently audit the ballot box. Follow My Vote makes this possible by incorporating an anonymous voting key registration protocol into their voting solution that anonymizes the voter prior to casting their ballot, protecting each voter’s right to privacy.

The report can be downloaded at Remote Election Technology Report
BMM Voting Supplement
The GBA Voting Working Group has developed a supplement to the Blockchain Maturity Model (BMM) for each phase of the voting lifecycle. The BMM Voting Supplement has been released, is being used to assess voting solutions that are published on an a directory of GBA Trusted Blockchain Solutions and also showcased by the UN IGF Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization.Â
EAC Recommendations
In the United States, American election officials typically trust election systems certified by a certified Voting System Test Laboratories (VSTL) in accordance with the Election Assistance Commission’s (EAC) Voluntary Voting Systems Guidelines (VVSG).
The current and past versions of VVSG do not support the use of internet connected devices. This makes it impossible to support citizens or our military serving abroad, nor people with disabilities unable to attend a voting place or use the available ballot marking device. In order to assure every citizen the ability to vote, election officials would prefer VVSG be updated to support the certification of Remote Accessible Ballot Marking and Return solutions.
To this end the GBA Voring Working Group submitted recommendations to the EAC to modernize the guidelines.
Download the VVSG Supplement for Remote Accessible Ballot Delivery Marking & Return (RABDMR) report. These recommendations have been submitted to the EAC and are scheduled to be reviewed by the Technical Working Group.
